help with da 1.4 saxooo :D

y'alright guys, i got a furio 1.4 saxo and was wondering if any of you out there know the best things to get done on it to improve performance.. to be honest a list that i could work off would be nice :D
thanks a lot.

kinsey92 28th September 2010 12:05

by performance i mean knocking the BHP up a nice amount :)

JohnRambosCat 28th September 2010 12:20

Its all acording what money you have to spend, you could go for exhaust and airfilters maybe even cams. or you could go for turbo conversion if the money is widly spread.

saxp 28th September 2010 12:23

Fast road cams

Turbo

Throttle bodies

Straight thru exhaust

Induction kits

saxp 28th September 2010 12:24

you just need money!! or just put a vtr engine in it i no a guy that will do them for you :D

kinsey92 28th September 2010 12:28

lmao well unfortunately money is an issue.. its my little project that will happen over time... i havn't got turbo charging money so im going with supercharger, i just need a list to work off as i know practically nothing about how to modify saxo's :D

johnlambert 28th September 2010 12:30

i can illegally get away with having a modded 1.4 that i can make fast enuff for me... or i can buy a VTS and not drive because they're too much to insure... ive only been driving a year :P

SAM-S44MDS- 28th September 2010 12:55

Or drop an S lump in and don't register it ;) although it's at your own risk :zainy:
Or drop a cammed vtr engine in, that would improve nicely on the BHP and it won't be blatantly obvious when you lift the bonnet like it would be with the vts

dustcapart 29th September 2010 00:22

or just forget about all the silly turbocharging or supercharging ideas you have and drive your nice economical 1.4 around for 2 years and save for a R or an S and dont run the risk of modding it and the insurance companies pulling down your kecks for not declairing mods when you crash.. :)

laberridge 29th September 2010 00:33

+1 to that ^^

Manu 29th September 2010 04:00

get a ripspeed air filter and drive with your fogs on.

You can't insure a 1.6, and you can't insure mods on a 1.4. Apparently

wait until your insurance rapes you for the next years to come after your first crash. Then you will know about money issues.

Its people who crash either without insurance or without valid insurance that causes insurance prices to be high for everyone else.

If you cant afford to delcare your mods then dont bother

Grow up

sax0gal 29th September 2010 10:54

well said also is a fucker for other people when someone uninsured drives into them

f13sta 29th September 2010 19:09

the 1.4 is pretty nippy as it is just give it a good service and it'll respond to that quite well. besideds once you have a few years ncd then you can get a vts or something even faster if you want.

Furioman 29th September 2010 19:31

Wouldnt bother trying to get more bhp, strip it, and spend your cash on handling and brakes, down the road you can always upgrade to a vts engine when insurance is more friendly.

I thought the largest percentage of insurance was due to all the wingers that claim accident injury
