Powdercoated wheels ruined?
I had my wheels powdercoated black a few months back and recently had a mini valet. After i got home i noticed my wheels looked all grey and streaky. I tried cleaning them with AG wheel cleaner and i cannot get them back to how they were. They now look shit if im honest. Just wondering is there any way at all of restoring them or will they need re-painting?

go back and ask what they used..

Im pretty sure it will have been TFR |
go back and say.. i found you dont a really good job on my wheels.. ive never been able to find anything very good...i was just wondering what you used.. if not then say... YOU F****D MY WHEELS UPP!!! and just kick all there stuff over..(last resort:))

Lol to be honest id rather just know if theres anyting worth trying to get them back looking good or ill just go get them coated again. I can get them coated cheap so not a major problem.
maybe try some 1200-1400 wet and try.. then give them a bit of a buff?
you shouldnt have to pay out for someone elses mistakes though not really fair..
I know i shouldnt because they have ruined them basically BUT its not a major valet company just a little shitty place so they wont be a legit business. There is signs up there saying they wont be held responsible etc so no point in me going back unless i take a big mate of mine to do them over haha
aha big friends come in handy.. yeah should maybe try some really high grit wet and try and try get some of the streaks out kind of work it like you had runs in paintwork.. what colour are they btw?
go up there and kick of mate haha

autoglym special wheel cleaner ftw
special wheel cleaner? ive got autoglym wheel clean not "special" though. Hmm im getting a new tyre soon so may just take off all 4 tyres and get them powdercoated again if nothing works. They WERE satin black mate, now they are matt grey :(
yeah deff try give them a light rub down.. at most its going to cost you like 39p for a few sheets of papaer form wilco.. if it works bonus.. if not then yourl have to get them recoated.
Yeah ill see if it helps. If not then ill be going back to gloss black like i used to have them
i think just recoating
rubing them down and repolishing is going to be hard and long job on top of it they wont be satin anymore just glos black. or just scotchbright them. |
