the stuff we use, same spec as used for sealing R380 gearboxes up on Land Rovers and any face fit parts such as MG cam boxes etc

For a vts? You sure about that? ;)

The black sealer from Pug/Citroen is what they use. Its about £25 though

saxo-parts 24th November 2010 11:51

the stuff we use above is meant to be seriously expensive but basically any anearobic sealant is ok, i've also used Wellseal in the past. And Sam's correct, you can't buy seals for S rocker covers sadly.

piebobs71 2nd January 2011 18:59

how much sealant do you need for resealing the cam covers?

Furioman 2nd January 2011 19:44

just a bead all the way round dont go to mad it will squish out when you tighten the covers down

piebobs71 2nd January 2011 20:41

so a 100ml tube will do?

saxo-parts 2nd January 2011 20:45

more then enough. our tube of wellseal has lasted us ages and we've done countless cam ladders with it

Expensive, but well worth the money. Same stuff which citroen use, never let me down so far.

that one?

sexy_gt 2nd January 2011 22:19

mine came in a smaller tube but looks to be the same stuff. loads left after doing sump and 16v rockers.

sump required 2-3mm layer.

rockers required wafer thin layer just covering the old seals.

it sticks like sh1t to blanket tho so take care with it. its hard to clean up!

We use this at work and it seems to satisfy the warranty wankers
