Clifford alarms.
 

I know the 650MkII has 3 outputs on this alarm

What can these be used for?
How easy are they to programme in?

Reason i ask is because i want to be able to turn my car lights on and off from the fob if its possible.

So if anyone has any know on how to do this it would be great

you can get the alarm to work anything electrical in the car mate, my clifford that i had in my saxo used to work the boot pop, turn on the headlights, shut the windows and start the car. all you need is to connect the wire from the alarm to a relay and time the output to the amount of time you want it to stay on, you can also latch the out put so it will work when you lock the car.

i bought a clifford and was wondering where do i wire the lock cable too?

errrrr the lock wire on the car. use a test light or a volt meter and test the wires going into the drivers door or the cdl relay box behind the glove box.

What i wanted to do was go from an output on the unit to a 12v relay and wire it up to the lights.
I know id have to use diodes to stop any back feed of current. Where would be the best place to pick up the wires for the sidelights? Just under the steering wheel where the loom comes from the stalks?

Ive also got the smart windows module here but my installer wouldnt fit it, so i may go for that one later. My question is are there switches so the unit knows when the window is fully up or down?
So the unit knows when to stop sending a signal etc?

Ive got intellistart too, but i think thats beyond what id like to fit myself so i may leave that one out

Sensor wise can i just plug new ones in and its works or do they have to be set up too?

yes pick up wires from the stalk, no diodes needed mate as there will be no back feeds, as for an installer that wont fit smart windows its not.... with the smart windows you program it to know when the windows are vented, it knows with thermal trips when the window is all the way down/up. most sensors need to be set up when fitted.:y:

I will attempt the smart windows, i noticed in the manual that you have to set the alarm up to vent windows.

whats the difference between clifford allarms and standard factory fitted ones?
does it bring insurance down?

Depends which alarm you go for and which insurance company your with

the factory fit alarms as the factory alarms always have faulse alarming problems due to the ultrasonics breaking and other faults, after market alarms like clifford and toad are made to last and have lots more features than the crap factory fit alarms, as for insurance approved alarms have a look in the stickys at the top of the ice page as there is a very good guid the vehicle security posted by a very good member on sax-p.......;)

Anyone know what the avantguard 5.1 and intelliguard 770 are like? I want best alarm i can get tbh. Its got a laserline one on now but want better as had someone try break in abit ago.
