JP4 fuel rail, no return??

am i right in thinking that the JP4 fuel rail has no fuel return on it?

Sophia_Bush 7th December 2010 00:22

yes you be right

jeffchiz 7th December 2010 00:26

awesomeee, ive blocked the fuel return off on my J4 engine and its held strong for a year but today it popped off i didnt realise and i lost over £20 worth of fuel and for a student thats a s**t load of fuel!!! lol and i really cant be bothered fitting a fuel return im sure its easy enough but id rather just fit a new fuel rail :D

Sophia_Bush 7th December 2010 00:35

may need modding a bit but wont be hard oh fpr is on the end of j4 rail jp4 for is not above the tank. Dunno how you have yours setup

jeffchiz 7th December 2010 00:43

ive just got a normal 16v engine how it would come straight out of a vts just with a length of pipe coming off the fuel return with a bolt tigerseal'd in the end lol didnt really understand about the fpr? will i need to swap them over and use the j4 fpr or can i use the jp4 fpr?

Sophia_Bush 7th December 2010 00:52

j4 fpr is on the end of the rail jp4 has no provision for this as will be on top of the tank

if your vtr was a silvertop then will have fpr under the rear bench if blacktop then id just keep j4 rail as would need to bugger about plumbing fpr in sep

jeffchiz 7th December 2010 00:58

oh i see, i had a silvertop engine so yes ill have the fpr under the bench? so should be a straight swap?

so (i might sound like an idiot here) but as i had a silvertop engine ive got the fpr under the rear bench and because i fitted the J4 engine i ALSO have an fpr on my fuel rail, so ive currently got 2 fprs?

Sophia_Bush 7th December 2010 01:11

yes you have 2 fprs

in that case jp4 is all good to go with a small bit of modding

jeffchiz 7th December 2010 01:22

brilliant, have you had any experience of fitting them to j4's in terms of what needs modding?

Sophia_Bush 7th December 2010 11:46

just the brackets that hold it on to the inlet everything else fits fine from when I tried it easy enough to sort out

jeffchiz 7th December 2010 14:28

Sophia_Bush 7th December 2010 14:33
