vtr/s conversion engine trying to cut out
hi all just had my vts engine changed as it was dead, put a vts in there and it has been fine for about 100/200 miles then the temperature gauge went funny it just goes up and down ?
so i was driving today and the revs started to go down so i just left it and the engine cut out then, so i turned it over and it fired back up straight away but now it keeps trying to stall but not all the time any clues ? my engine loom was crossed over from mk 2 vtr to a mk1 vts could it be the looms are or is it to do with maybe the sensors or coil pack, i have cleaned all the sensors on the throttle Any help pleas would be great as this is my drive to work ! |
it sounds like it could be the loom mate but first i would check coil pack m8
|
another thing to check would be your ht leads
|
okay thats basically means just buying another coil pack right and taking the chance and see if it fits or not ? as i cant get hold of another coil pack but i just started it and it seems fine i will give it a run when i get time thanks mate

I did read something about there was a loom that wasn't quite right for the fuel pump? Your problem sounds like when my fuel pump broke on my vtr too:y:

just to say i did unplug the idle control vavle conection a few times and drove 20 miles and it has not happend since ? maybe its okay now
|
Could be the idle control valve causing the bouncing revs, the temp gauge problem could be a faulty connection somewhere or you may have an air lock in the coolant system.
