VTR Rev Limiter !
Hi Guys,
Drove the VTR im buying the other day an i knoticed that it has a rev limiter and pretty much cuts out at about 6.5k :n: Does anyone know how to take it out ? I dont know to much about saxo's, my first one. So bare with me lol. Is the limiter in the ECU or is it some where else? Cheers, Noddy |
why would you want to take it out?
rev limiter is there for a reason. |
peak power on the vtr is at 5800 anyway
|
it doesnt do the engine any good if u keep red lining it.
as L16 stated, its there for a reason |
If you want your car to rev more, then get it cammed and re-mapped then it will rev more its pointless wanting your car to rev more cause it wont make no difference as shuggles said peak power is 5800rpm after that the power decreases the more higher up the rev range u go on a standard engine..........
or alternative get a vts they rev to 7200rpm or 7800rpm if u get a cammed/re-mapped vts :y: |
O right I see. Thanks guys I really didn't know that when it hits the limiter it's at peak power I just thought it was restricted so you couldn't go as fast. And if I did take it off i wouldn't red line it every were like all the chavs round here lol. Those boys and there civics they love it, there is a car park near my place and they sit there for hours red lining and wheel spinning haha!

it doesn't reach peak power at the redline. it reaches it before it. one of the uses of extending the rev range past the peak power point is so that the next gear drops the revs back into the power band instead of below it

http://www.kamracing.co.uk/index.php...camshafts.html also you will want new springs, followers and probbly stem oil seals, and then vernier pulley to make the most out of it and then pay someone to fit it all adn then pay £300+for a remap...you wont get change from a grand you'll get between 110-120bhp at an estimate but you are right for £300 i did my 16v conversion much cheaper |
