cutting rear bumper

so im going to cut my rear bumper so the backbox sits flush.. should i just use a coping saw then sand it off once im done? or is there any better ways cheers

Pull the back box up to it as tight as you can, run it like that for a month/1000 miles so it melts lovly into the bumper. Then remove the exhaust and clean up the edge with sandpaper/wetNdry to be left with a perfect shape :y:

I use a grinder with a cutting disc but yeh that ok but if your wanting it round that will be no good :(

martinstfc 13th March 2011 14:35

just move the back box over abit

Lew77 13th March 2011 14:41

It wont go anymore i tried

Kyza 13th March 2011 14:49

What backbox is it? Ive never come accross or heard of any backbox that wont sit properly without abit of juggling about or effort.

Lew77 13th March 2011 14:51

sportex, i can go give it another try. i didnt really give it a good go yesterday cause my hands were cold. will report back after dinner lol

Kyza 13th March 2011 14:52

Bend the brackets on the backbox, use jubalee clips and cable ties to pull it to how you want.

Lew77 13th March 2011 14:57

May sound stupid but do the brackets have to sit all the way in the rubber mounts? or can they sit in half way or so?

Lewis 13th March 2011 14:58

Its criminal to cut bumpers, there is always a way to avoid it. I just use Tie wraps, they ALWAYS work seens how they are adjustable. Are you sure you havn't put a 106 exhaust on a saxo? They defiantly don't fit properly

Lew77 13th March 2011 14:58

it came off a guys saxo on here. i think u guys are right i just need to fiddle bout with it

Lew77 13th March 2011 17:49

flipped the bracket and im pretty happy where it is now. bit more fiddlin when i can be bothered and should be perfect

coleman258 13th March 2011 17:52

Couple of jubilee clips will allways get it sitting perfect.

DansexysaxoVTS 13th March 2011 17:55
