cable
what solution are there to tidying the cables up in the interior as mine is totally gutted now, was looking for some sort of trunken to put then in ?
You can get like a ribbed tubing with a split down it to put them in.
willsy used loads of that trunking on his old yellow one
all i didin my old gti i had gutted totally was retape the loom up as id stripped it right down and chopped half off it i looked tidy enough for me |
nicest thing to do is pvc sleeve it all. but this would require it all to be reconnected. so a long job.
I used elecy tape and wrapped really neat & tidy....

james im unsure what that is... where im not using a carpet or anything i want everything to look 100% tidy.. james please find me some ? thanks buddy
Can get some heatshrink stuff, or you can get some cloth loom tape which seems to give a nice finish.
pvc sleeving is the best stuff, it has the same type of finish to it as heatshrink. but as it does not shrink it doesn't look bad when it shrinks around wires. leaving a smooth finish to the loom. just google it

i think he's using muilty core cable on myn straight into the fuse box well new fuse box on dash, plan was to just tidy and trim normal loom but turned into a "i will just re wire the whole thing" and got out his snips, so will up load pics when its done monday.

It's not ideal for tidying interior looms though, as it often won't fit over connectors. Convoluted tube or fibre mesh are much easier for that. I don't like the fibre mesh for engine bays, because if it gets oil in it, it's impossible to clean and it doesn't support the wires very well. |
mark get some photos please mate

will be tomora when its done now, we had change plan other night so only had time to strip old one down etc (pub was calling)
