306 GTI 6 discs on VTR?
I have found some 306 GTI 6 front discs and calipers that I am hoping to fit onto my VTR. I believe (correct me if i'm wrong), that standard vtr discs are 247mm and 306 GTI6's are 283mm. If I fitted them along with the GTI6 calipers (which should bolt straight on?), will the increased size be alright?
I also plan to put them under VTR wheels, so will have to slightly grind the calipers down to fit. Some feedback would be veeeeeeery helpful :y: Thanks guys. |
You need at least 15s to fit them afaik.
Many people have fitted them though if you search. |
Take a look at this thread mate, might be useful.....

You also need to grind then to fit the hub. 206 GTI calipers require no grinding at all. As above you will struggle to get them under 14's..

ive never heard of anyone getting 283's under 14's need a minimum of 15" wheels to fit them, if you want to keep the vtr rims then you need the 306xsi brakes that are 266mm

or 306 s16 callipers 266

Just after fitting gti6's to my vts.
Youve no hope off getting them on with vtr wheels,i had to get the wheel balances removed from my vts wheels because they rubbed on the calliper so definately vts\other 15's are a minimum mate! They also need a slight bit of grinding as said above, the top of the carrier hits against part of the strut so once you grind that small part off thats you ready to bolt on :D |
