Harness eyelets? Or wrap around roll cage bars?
Just wondered if anyone could post a link to the correct eyelets for a saxo to be used in the rear seatbelt bolt holes. But i know this will give the harnesses a wrong angle.
Would it be better to wrap them around the roll cage bars? Is this easy to do? Thanks |
No dont wrap them around roll cage bars use the eye lets. Ebay is probably the best bet for the eyes you can get 8 for £10~

Eyelets in the rear seatbelt holes means the angle of the harness will break your collar bones in a bump. Something like that anyway. I am only warning you of what I have heard, but tbh, thats wear I would put them. Try demon tweeks! :y:

Rear seat belt holes. Technically speaking harnesses shouldnt be mounted that low down but realistically unless you craash at 9 million miles an hour into a mountain you will be fine.

Cages are fixed I'm properly, and the bars are part of the main roll hoop.
![]() It's a damn sight easier to rip out a bolt than it is to rip a harness bar off of a proper cage. Google wrc interiors and they're cage mounted. |
How much did that setup cost? My harnesses have the little one way gated clips for eyelets on the ends, do yours?
|
Fit to the cage as above.
Some harnesses cant be fitted to the cage and need the end cut off but 99% of the decent ones can be fitted either way. |
That's colins but I have the same cage going in.
My 4 points have the clips (you can remove them) and my 6 pointer out of a rally car shell has had the two rear ones removed where it was cage mounted. |
Thanks guys, Im getting an OMP half cage (bolt in) with harness bars. I have omp seats, sidemounts and subframes coming, but now stuck on what harnesses to get (pref 2nd hand 3" ones) and how to mount them in my car.

If you want to complete the OMP setup, i've use an OMP Road 4M, 3", 4 point, but retains a normal buckle. Can get it with aircraft style if that's more your fancy.

![]() Ok, it does say acceptable, but I would imagine its a bit more of a steeper angle to the rear mounting points? |
