Thought I'f finally get some decent pics up of the vtr!

First job id do.....check for rust under the ecu and fusebox in the engine bay. Good luck.

AndyEds1991 9th October 2011 20:11

There's rust there....but if I make sure I don't open the bonnet too often.........I don't see it so its not there ;)

But when the time comes I've got someone who's good at welding so it's something I can avoid for now :) it's not as bad as it looks.....honest.....

Right guys!Might be actually getting somewhere now!

New wing fitted!!De-cat fitted!!New door trim on tomorrow!!

Will get some pics up for whoever wants to look later :p

Also booking in to get the torsion bar done by the end of the week! :D
Then self service beginning of next week!
And getting a spare bumper to mod/smooth so I can try and give her a new look, planning on smoothing fogs and making mounts for cold air feed pipes...opinions on running cold air through fogs?good bad?

Going to re paint calipers and alloys next week too.....colour combos to match car? any idea would be great!

Bay de-rust, lose the filter, lose the chav wheels and it'll be decent. I tried a caf through the fogs but with the PAS pump in the way it was a bit of a bitch to route it

Haha wheels not my choice....hence changing colour to make them bearable :P
Filter need sorting, want to go back to standard with a uprated panel filter :)

as far as de-rusting goes.....its and ongoing process....been cleaning down and tidying little bits here and there, but planning on spraying it up when the space to do its clear :/

Is routing it possible though?not too fussed about how hard as long as it's possible :)

Thanks for the comments mate, everything is appreciated, seeing as where i live everyone is either a chav/farmer or doesn't drive!

My CAF pipe hit the floor when I did it like that but it might be possible - depends what you use. I'd check the inner wings for rust though mate, might look superficially sound but they do go there. Under the fusebox and ECU are the hot spots, you can literally push holes in the metal with your finger usually

I've had the wing off on one side and all is well there, want to have a good rumage through over the next few days!

Are saxo's known to rust by the jacking points?and could I just get a plate welded in there?

And here comes the numpty (ME) Taking a friend home last night,as I turned around at the end of his drive the front end scraped....but I'm used to this so I thought no more of it....Woke up to my uncle asking wtf had I done to my car....Half ripped the front bumper off :y: But it popped straight back in....no bolts or anything which i thought was strange or have I missed something?

So new bumper being ordered for smooooooothing!

Thanks guys!

Will get some pics up in a bit for anyone who wants to see!But I managed to dent and buckle two of my wheels the other day :( FAIL!
So I'm now driving around with my mates 205 gti alloys on...look really nice, shame he wont sell them :P
So off tonight to buy a set of standard vtr alloys hopefully! Bumper being smoothed(slowly) rear beam being done next week!

:)
