Saxo track car
In tech (Collage) we are building a track car and the car we have is a 1.1 saxo
pictures and videos to i will update with pictures on monday when im back in work done: stripped out (one seat left in it) straight custom made exhaust De-wipered lowered 6 notches on the torsion bar |
|
lowering on notches is a concern already....
And why have you bothered staying with 3 stud? Light weight track wheels will be soooooo hard to find! |

Aswell as notches causing more problems than good remove the whole torsion bar and measure the hub height to lower it I know your starting out and eager to crack on but research things before diving in and youll find the end result a lot better |
hopefully by the end of the build it will look quite nice
cant beat the sound out of it :P |

Research at home and note things down you want to remember lol
Lots of forums are banned in collages now but its normally for a good reason |

something to do with a teachers sexual text message to a student and well they banned it lol i will ask the collage admin to get it unbanned cus it would be good help to us |
Nice idea, but some of the things you are doing are a worry.. That car's going to have really poor handling, i only hope you don't have to take it on a track for the final exam lol

Rear is far too low, as said before a 4 stud car would have been an advantage. Oh well enjoy the project
|
havent updated this in a while
Update: Stripped out roll cage made and painted and alloys have been bought. 25mm spacers are being made and we are raising the rear back up again !!!!!!!!!PICS TO FOLLOW!!!!!!!!!! |
what suspension set up are you going to be running at the front?

not sure that cage will be the strongest?
those 2 long sections right to the back of the boot with no cross bar or diagonal will be pretty pointless? They look weird point in at the top as well? I'd have tried to replicate a well known cage design, such as the SD one. Fair play for having a crack though I guess |
Never seen a cage design like that before
What made you choose to build it that way? I would have copied a reputable cage manufacturer, unless i knew and understood the calculations needed to make one myself safely |
