time for a new air filter

On my current GTI I have a open pipercross air filter and thinking of getting rid of it as personally it is pointless!

Car at the moment has standard manifold, cat fitted, middle section with silencer and a magnex twin oval backbox so its pretty much completely standard all apart from the air filter!

And I think this is just making my MPG worse with it being an open filter too

I had an ecosse enclosed kit on my previous GTI thinking of getting something similar but may revert back to the standard GTI air box for now?

Do you think my MPG will be noticably different if I put the standard air box back on?

Go back to the standard air box set-up & fit a good panel filter ie Green etc. Then improve the air feed.

Yeah think thats what I might do for time being as I really wanna go boosted so don't really want to fork out for induction kits and everything lol wanna try save the pennys for boosting :fcuk: lol

At the moment I'm just trying to tidy the engine bay and clean it all up make it look nice and keep the car in a good clean condition :y:
