my lights suck !

Okay I have a mk1 saxo and the headlights are terrible. They have them stupid xeon bulbs which have I think "100w/80w" written on them. Will my saxo power these okay and yeah they are 12v :-D

Just get some good ones from halfords.

Or off the net.

They were in the car before I owned it. A week after I had it the bulb itself shattered inside the headlight maybe cause of the high output :-/

I'd imagine it's because they were high powered bulbs of very low quality.

Saxo lights are awful! I couldn't do over 50 in the dark in mine down a road I could normally do 90 down! Now have HID's. Quite expensive but they look mint and a way safer I think. I've had mine adjusted bang on to save other people's eyes and the only time I get a flash from another car is if I'm going round a left hander so they are in my kurb kick or I'm I'm just approaching the brow of a hill. Otherwise they are fine.

you all need to buy glasses, standard lights are fine as long as they're aligned properly and the lenses are clean.

This is discussed four times a week in the relevant section.

Let me guess, you touched the glass part of the bulb with dirty fingers?

I've had 100W's before and they were great, now got Osram Nightbreakers (55W) and they're still fantastic. The 100W's didn't burn out, and the Osram's are very bright.

I've no idea why yours would be so dim.

I found the nightbreakers to break quite often (went through 2 sets in under a year). The ring extra bright bulbs (dont ask me on the exact name) ones are quite good, had them on the car for 18months now.

fairly sure that sort of wattage isnt street legal. Nor are HID kits unless you have HID headlights themselves IIRC. Just get some uprated bulbs, make sure you clean the lenses and the lights are fully adjusted. Failing that, give upon driving as you appear to be blind...

not had a problem with mine bar when the back of the car was lower than the front
