Carplan back to black..useless

Either i'm not doing the job properly or its actually shite stuff! leaves lined marks on black trim and can still see fade.. Seem to get better results from autoglym bumper care.

Try Black wow, pricey for a small bottle but excellent stuff.

AG stuff is ok for the price too.

Heftydanielson 30th January 2012 13:40

I use the AG stuff and it's good., only need to apply it every few months.

I use pitch black from £ land, spray on, leave for about a minute, dry off with a cloth. Gets rid of polish marks on black trim :D and makes them look tidy

devilsadvocate 30th January 2012 16:49

If the trim is badly faded then back to black may only make it look slightly better.

Tried it on mine and looks a little better but they are faded enough that they need to be sprayed really.

mlawlan69 30th January 2012 16:55

it is only a cheap product, used it before and wasnt impressed, but was worth a punt at £1

as said, once they become very faded either a respray or heat gun will bring them back properly.

VTR_Bass87 30th January 2012 17:13

its not badly faded just a slight fade, still dark dark grey..its the dry polish on the wing mirrors that concern me.

i find turtle wax ice liquid polish is good for making blacks black again

Nates-VTR 5th February 2012 00:52

yeah autoglym is much better, i also used this marine stuff for sealing the bottom of boats.. brings your bumpstrips up real black and keeps them like that for a few months.

Use some APC and a brush on your plastics before using the blackening products, this will give you a nice clean base to work of and will remove the excess polish :y:
