Whats so good about iPhones?

Dont know if its just me but i really cant see whats so special about them, theyre over priced an dont do anything that any android phone cant do. i had a iphone 4 for a few months and hated it it was just boring nothing special at all. Sold it and got a HTC desire hd and i love it. Why do so many people get them?

Found this on youtube, wish i had done this with mine

Was it Jailbroken?

I'f refuse to have an iPhone if it couldn't be jailbroken.

m0nk3yb0y94 7th February 2012 01:16

It wasn't for the first week i had it an then i was told i could do more if i jailbroke it so i did, played around with packages from cydia and all sorts but still dont see the obsession with them tbh

Tbh I've never used a touch screen as responsive as the iPhones, I love mine because of its web browsing, I just don't use a computer anymore, just find it generally very user friendly for me, like the txt font is easier to read than blackberry txt font, It is all down to personal preference at the end of the day, alot of people I know try to justify blackberrys being better purely based on the fact they have BBM ( never had a problem with unlimited Txts)

m0nk3yb0y94 7th February 2012 02:11

I find that my desires touch screen is just as responsive as it imo. I agree with you on the blackberry side though i dont like them at all, i dont see why blackberrys have bbm texts do the exact same thing :D

The ease of use and interactivity is the reason for me. So easy and quick to use :)

Ashleyp 13th February 2012 09:50

Whats interesting is people that don't have iPhones always try to justify not having one.

I have an iPhone, it's simple and easy to use, does more than what i need it to, and if i ever have a problem with it the apple store will give me a brand new one.

And those that have iphones usually swear down that no other phone is better, 'cos they're too obcessed to even try another phone...

I've just got a Blackberry Bold 9900 Touch. It's fecking amazing, internet is as fast as normal broadband. Immense sound quality through speaker and headphones. Screen is easy to work. Charge does me for a day. Hell, I've been on the laptop ONCE in the last week 'cos I can now do everything on my BB. On my old BB I gave up hope but this one on OS7 is just next level!

Anyone who comes to my workshop ALWAYS moans about signal if they have an Iphone, never have any problems on blackberry or android, or cheap basic phones :)

Good point, however you could argue the same for BB users - it's all personal preference.

For me, I have no need to try another phone, before i got my iPhone i had a few sony erricssons, before touch screen was big they were great IMO - probably better handsets on the market but I found a brand that i liked to use and so stuck with it.

Same with iPhones, probably better phones on the market, but I like the OS / ease of use / aesthetics etc etc, and so have no reason to look elsewhere.

Iphones suck.

I spent years saying i'de never have one. then got myself a nice Iphone4. took me a week to get used to it. Then couldnt live without it. it means im always working. All was going fine untill my facebook app updated and now i wanna smash this thing up!! I want to stamp on it.

Arrghhh, i need a phone that can handle facebook with 5000 friends. ( im not gay i swear )

Ashleyp 13th February 2012 10:13

It's a sad day when facebook is the cause of your anger...

KrisB 13th February 2012 10:23

Actually ashley I do agree there, once you get accustomed to one brand you tend to stick, for example...

BB9900 no1, BB9900 no2 (fiancee's) - both on Three
Mobile broadband for home, Mobile broadband at work - both on Three.
Laptop, printer, webcam - All HP

Ironically, I was waiting for someone to try and be smart and call me out on that.

I stated what I like about my phone, not justification of having one.

theres a difference, but hey ho, you obviously aren't as intelligent as you pretend to be behind the mask of the interwebs.

Personally I have an iPhone as I like it.

Simple as.

Does everything I want and does it well.

Tontsy 13th February 2012 12:25

i dont have an iphone, i want an iphone mind.
i do like their styling (of the 4/4s) they do perform well. just like my android.

ill think about the 5 when its easily available.

Ryan 13th February 2012 14:41

They're a great fashion device and machine for apps.

Apple got the leap on everyone with the app store and it still shows.

However considering its several generations in, it's still ultimately flawed as a phone.

TwiggyMK 26th February 2012 10:13

They're a decent phone but people that think they're the greatest phone in the world talk shit. For £400 I wouldn't buy one. The top of the range samsungs are at least as good tbh the touch is as good as well. The predictive text on iPhones is shocking

My only real gripe with the phone.

it's gotten 10x worse in iOS.5 too.

monka 26th February 2012 12:14

i have an ipod touch myself, although i find it it good to use in terms of apps and games etc, dont think i'd ever get an iphone.

a phone to me calls and texts, lol. i've got a nokia x3 and just brought a nokia c5, both sub £100 phones, both call and text, and you can download apps and games onto them just like on an iphone. yeah maybe not as good to use the apps as an iphone, but would i pay an extra £300 just to use an app easier, would i fuck. lol

o, but iphone has that amazing thing called facetime, which can only be used in wifi, and 3 invented nearly 10 years ago. lol
