can I polish a scratch out

Hi, I have got a scratch on the rear off side pannel, what is the cheapest but effective.wah.to remove or reducr the scratch?

Stuart85VTR 20th February 2012 14:36

It depends how deep it scratch is. If it catches on your nail, it generally needs repaired. Light scratches can easily be polished out :)

Get a photo up and we'll let you know the best way.

You might be able to get away with getting a machine polisher on it

If you know someone local with a machine polisher, get them to have a look and see if they can buff it out.

If you cant see it whens theres water on it.. it will buff out.

And as said.. If you can catch it with your nail. It wont buff.

Maby for a quick fix to take it away from your eye, buy a touch up pen?

In the past I've sorted mine with a touch up pen. Fill it with the paint so it's higher than the rest of the paint. Leave to cure, wet sand till its level with the paint (2500/3000 wet and dry) then polish by machine. Can't tell mine was even scratched now. Takes a lot of patience though.

+1 to that..

Patience is key lol... otherwise you could burn through the paint.
