Red vts to white vts alloys progress!
 

Thought I'd start a little progress thread on changing my posi blue with red to white!

Here is the starting product:



Wheels off time:









Got the badges, chevrons and some mirror caps to get sanded, primed and sprayed white!



Alloy sanding begins... The most boring part...





Just need to finish off sanding, mask off the tires, prime them up and spray.

Will be doing it over the next few days hopefully!

Will look good all white matey. are you from redcar? ive never seen it about before!

white is win mate! Or antracite (sp?) tbh, I quite like the red! :y: but the back lights are a bit dark...

I live in Marske buddy, only been working on my car 4 months at the most with alloys etc so I will have blended into the crowd before probably why you have never seen me!

And the back lights are two pairs of women's tights haha, cheap and nasty! Not got around to smoked jewels yet :P

After a thorough sand and wet sand and after what seemed like the most boring and frustrating hours of my life masking and sanding they are finally ready!



In to the spray den they go for their first coat of primer...



I've also got my badges, chevrons and mirror caps strung up for gloss white but the picture was useless haha

Good few coats of primer are on!



After leaving the 24 hours I gave them a light sanding over and then began with the white gloss. Really chuffed with how they are coming along!







Leaving another 24 hours before lacquering them.

I'm not sure what to do with the inside of they alloy... Do I paint it black or white?

Also what sealant should I get? Just some autoglym alloy sealant?

Look much better in white..........

Red looked better

It had started to fade and looked pinky with no gloss so looks poor in person in comparison to the picture.

With all my badges etc white it should look really clean.

everyone has white/blue, black/blue and anthracite/blue I think the red worked myself

white looks so much better. I hate how everyone has coloured wheels these days it looks a bit tacky :homme:

No mate, cars running like shit. Put a new map sensor on and it's made it worse :S Just don't understand it haha. Backfiring here and there aswell...

I prefered red myself! But they look very good in white also!

rear wheels need spacing a tad & front coming down!

Keep those wheels clean ;)
