how much paint?
hopefully this is the right section...
How many cans of paint, lacquer and primer would i need to do 4 vtr alloys? my cars ice grey, so what do you think is better? gloss or matt black? thanks |
gloss looks neater.
How good are you at painting? I did mine with 3 cans of paint; same of lacquer and 1 of primer; but the wheels were in good nick and the primer i used s a 600ml one haha whereas the paint and lacqyer was 300ml |
the paint im looking at is 500ml
im not too bad at spraying, ill order 3 of each and then 2 primer just incase lol thanks |
Should have me asked me this question on FB, I did 4 cyclones with 2 tins of halfords paint and one 500ml tin of primer.
For best finish you should primer then rub lightly with 1200 grit wet and dry, then spray, rub down and spray again, finally then laquer them |
or me? you know i did mine not long ago, make sure you laquer them up really well though because i didnt and they started to flake after a month or 2 , i touched them up and laquered them up properly after and they been fine ever since so yeah dont be shy with the clear coat :P
|
I was going to ask one of you two but neither of you were online at the time when I was going to order but I've decided not to get them done yet and concentrate on servicing the car and getting the bumper/bonnet sprayed lol
Thanks anyways peeps! |
Consider anthracite as a colour instead of gloss black, goes really well on icelandic saxos.
|
I was also thinking anthracite, but I'm not sure I wanna keep vtr alloys, might keep an eye out for a set of S alloys and refurb them
|
i have gone for ford graphite grey as an alternative to black......seen a few vtr's this colour so hoping mine will turn out as good :D
