Josh's Silver Polo, Show&Glow, Photo Whoring, XXR Test Fit
Hello.
Some of you may remember I had a Posi Blue Furio which I sadly wrote off around 5 weeks ago. I have finally managed to get myself another car, but decided to take the chance to try something different. My interests are still there in French cars, but for now I shall be rollin' in a German wagon! My previous thread for anyone interested! - http://www.saxperience.com/forum/sho...osi+Blue+Furio And heres how my Saxo looked in its final stages before the crash! ![]() ![]() ![]() But anyhow, on to the Polo! Spec: Volkswagen Polo 1.4 8v 60bhp Match 76000 Miles FSH All old MOTS Electric Windows Electric Sunroof Electrically Adjustable Mirrors Colour Coded Bumpstrips I got it for slightly below what similar ones were going for due to a couple bodywork issues. Mainly these are abit of damage on the front bumper and 2 dents/creases in the bootlid. The rear bumper also requires a respray as it looks like someone as tried to touch it up with a rattle can! Some pictures from today, gave it a quick clean and clayed it ready for a polish and wax tomorrow. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() PLANS! -- Source a bootlid without dents -- Coilovers (3 weeks time) -- Wheels 13 or 14" and at least 8j rears. (Next month or two) Maybe the banded steel route that I never got to go down with the saxo. -- Professional Respray on front and rear bumpers, smoothing the front bumper. -- Fit my headunit. -- Debadge rear, Dewiper, Little Aerial, Aero Wipers, SMD LED's for interior + sidelights + New Reg Plates (maybe pressed) -- Tidy up the paintwork more, maybe get it mopped. -- Maybe a GTI splitter! Should have a couple little updates Monday, then it will be quiet until coilover time! :) |
It looks tidy! like these myself.

Most of it is tidy, but the front and rear bumpers are pretty awful, going to look into getting them resprayed fairly soon I think! |

And yeh let me know about the coilovers. Looking at just getting the JOM or FK AK budget ones :) |
Looks nice josh, really liked your sax.
Bet this is much better built, rattle free driving. |

The Polo feels so much more substantial, little things like the way the seats are slightly bigger make all the difference, feels and is bigger in general! :) |
Judging by how nice your furio was I imagine this could be pretty good mate. Looks like a good base too.

Plans are mainly just lows and wheels, then some tidying up of the bumpers and a new bootlid. From there I'll just see what I fancy! |
Small update - Spent most the weekend on the car. Polished it and Waxed it. The paintwork isnt too bad, and silver hides most blemishes anyway so its looking pretty tidy now!
This weekend I've Washed, Clayed, Polished and Waxed it. Debadged the rear "polo" badge. Fitted "aero" wipers to the front. De-wipered the rear using a solid grommet/bung that sits flush with the glass. Fitted SMD LED lights in the rear plate lights, interior light and sidelights. Tried fitting my headunit, but the adapters I got in the kit doesnt seem to fit my headunit :S So need to hunt out a different adapter! Picture time! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Got some pictures of the rear plate lights and sidelights at night time. The plate lights are bloody bright as they arent 501 they are some other fitment which allows for 3 big SMD bulbs!
