front wheels sit back

as you can see my front wheels (same on other side) sit close to the rear of the arch.
i had a little search and came across just one thread mentioning the bolts for the wishbone where they mount to chassis (bolt under carpet in footwell).

now i know the car had a little bump at the front drivers side. so maybe this hasnt been repaired fully.
the top mounts on the struts seem to sit pointing back too, again both sides the same. to me it looks like i just need to adjust something rather than this being caused by the bump it had on the one side. anyone any ideas?

anyyyyone

KamRacing 13th June 2012 16:14

were the wishbones replaced?

Gandi699 13th June 2012 16:14

get some pics of the top mounts/struts. Could be moved wishbone mounting points but I'd reckon the wishbones would not fit easily if that happened

gotta be the wishbones mate as the top strut is locked into place by the middle bolt thats how my struts sit and i dont have my wheels leaning back

mcjacko1987 13th June 2012 16:40

so both wishbones bent?

mcjacko1987 13th June 2012 16:40

or need possible adjusting

AlexB 13th June 2012 16:48

there is no.adjustment on wishbones

they look bent
or the bushes have perished
new ones needed

hobers4 13th June 2012 17:21

id say new wishbones as the actual bars could be bent best thing to do is but some not cheap ones as they dont last very long i brought some on ebay and 2 weeks later needed new ones believe me its better to spend the extra bit and have a good quality wishbone as its your life sitting on them

mcjacko1987 13th June 2012 18:50

Make sure you have the right ones, 1.4/1.6 ones are different to 1.1 ones, should be able to get some cheap off here with someone breaking a car.

i bought some cheap ones off ebay (£70 for the pair) apart from having to re-attach the rubber boots again with strong wire as soon as i got them, theyve been on a good year or 2 without troubles..

Only part of buying 2nd hand wishbones is knackered balljoints. Just buy brand new ones they'll have new ball joints in them.

My Wheels are exactly the same as yours. My arms are new and were 45 each from pages it's just because they are not genuine citroen parts doesn't mean there bent.
