door lock faults
Hi, my daughter has just got a 1.1 saxo desire with central locking. The passenger door tends to open when driving along, not fully but enough for you too think it will, does anyone have any idea what can be causing this and possible remedies? Many thanks for reading my post.

bit of WD40 in the lock catch maybe?
Adjust the striker on the body of the car, possibly the door has dropped.
I have tried WD40 on the catch mechanism, hasn`t improved the situation. How do you adjust the catch, as I don`t think the door has dropped?
sorry, striker meant too say, do you mean the reciever on the body and if so, do you mean bringing it forward by packing it out with washers?
Yes the metal plate on the body & no not packing it with washers but slacking off the bolts then gently tap up/down with a hammer to get better alignment.
Thanks for the info, have tried moving the striker, which was ok, but fault still happening when driving. Does the lock normally wear badly? I have a 1999 spree and have never had this problem and it has much higher mileage/use.

look at the paint work on the hinges if it looks like its been moved or sliped then the door could be out of line, if the doors been taken off for any reason befor its likely to not be on right, look for inconsistent panel gap as an indicator.
if not then im stumped |
