Parrot MKi9200 Help

Hi all,

I have recently purchased a SEAT Ibiza Bocanegra (2010) and it came fitted with a Parrot MKi9200 bluetooth kit.

I had the car in my posession for a matter of hours before the Parrot kit stopped working.

Usually when turning the car off the Parrot screen displays a "Good bye" message, and then when you turn the car on the Parrot also turns on.

The problem i have is that the last time i turned the car the off the "Good bye" message did not appear. Now when it comes to starting the car, the Parrot does not turn on and i have found no way of manually turning Kit on.

I believe the problem only occured after I connected my Iphone 4 Via Bluetooth.

Any help on getting the kit to start up is much appreciated.

Thanks

Dan

As I think most Parrots are specific to just Halfords so try call them up and see if they can contact Parrot or if they've encountered the issue before. If you do call just ask to speak to their audio fitter and see what they say. If you didn't buy it from them then just make it seem like you did so they'll be more helpful ;)

~ I work at Halfords so this should help you out. (I can't say I like to deal with Technology side)

Parrots are not only specific to Halfords as they can be bought just about anywhere.

Oh, I was sure atleast one was specific to Halfords  Either way when I've called Parrot before I'm they have a specific line for Halfords which will probably go through a lot quicker than you calling directly.

When you turn your ingition do you here a click...would come from the blue box.
I would say to check the connections on the emulator (blue box), i would usually unplug it all then just plug it back in see if it all turns back on. Only thing is finding where whoevers fitted has hidden the blue box. Might be ideal to check the settings on the parrot once you get it turned back on, make sure thats up to date, should either say 2.00 or 2.11 unless any new update has been made. Also make sure your iphone is up to date. Other thing that just came to mind is if it needed an ignition live put in, ie from the cig lighter or fuse box, fuse might have just gone

ignition ^

well it was working all through the test drive and every time until I sync'd my phone.

I think I heard 2 clicks when I turned the ignition on today. I've found the blue box, unplugged everything apart from the power because it was stuck. swapped the orange and red wires round too. still no luck

ok, the red and orange only need to be switched if the unit doesnt display goodbye when you switch the ignition off

think the seat uses an SOT-976 OR SOT-976FB handsfree harness, these both need an ignition/switch live, so depending on where the fly lead has gone to from the harness, the fuse could have blown.

I usually wire the fly lead to either the cig lighter or an ideal ignition live fuse in the interior fuse box

Another thing is if the fuses on the red and orange wire have blown...i've never had that happen though

I work for halfords and fit them, plus been helping at an audio specialist recently

Is kinda confusing me that its since you sync'd your phone, however fuses can go whenever tbh...check that first if not pop into a halfords your have a handsfree fitter in store or pop to an audio specialist.

Hopefully this has kinda helped you

not gonna happen, they want £80 for a new blue box, I'm just gonna rip it out and put a double din H/u in with Bluetooth.

I am a Parrot Certified Installer mate, try and unplug the box for 5 mins and plug back in for a reset.

Check the fuses in the Orange and Red wires are not blown.

If all else fails, send to me and I will flash the software.

I have left the box unplugged over night and it doesn't seem to help. I've decided to remove it and fit a double din head unit with Bluetooth anyway. thanks for the help though.
