Alternator Tensioner & Pulley

Hi all,

I need to change the crank pulley for the alternator.

The tensioner just spins on itself, from what I've read this is a common problem.

Do I need to replace this? Or can I just undo the two 13mm? bolts slightly for the sliding mechanism and hit the tensioner pulley up and down with a hammer?

Where are the two other bolts? I had a quick look the other day but can't see a thing as the crank seal is leaking very slightly so I've got a lot of old oil and dirt around that area.

Any advice would be great.

Cheers,

Scott

Pic of left hand side of 16v engine out the car would probably be sufficient.

There is an Allen type threaded bar that you need to undo from the bottom of the tensioner.

Indeed, that's my issue it just spins on itself! :-)
