Xsi head tuning.

Will be running the head on my standard vtr bottom end. So is there anything worth doing to the head before its fitted? Like larger valves/springs/ect.... any advice would be good.

I am running a "port and polished" xsi head at the min but I'm not sure it was done by some one who knows what they were doing.

Any advice is welcome.

This is something i have been looking into aswell. Im sure you could get a better camshaft for that head and if you can get stiffer springs for that head then i would, i understand the XSI head already has a decent cam from standard but im sure you would benefit from something a bit more lairy.

Also i would'nt go for larger valves as this can mess up the flow or VE, big valve conversions are more for turbo charged engines were the oe valves are actually bottle-necking the airflow into the cylinder.

And get the head professionally ported and polished and flow bench/ tested if your going to the effort of tuning the head :y:
