Xsi head tuning.
Will be running the head on my standard vtr bottom end. So is there anything worth doing to the head before its fitted? Like larger valves/springs/ect.... any advice would be good.
I am running a "port and polished" xsi head at the min but I'm not sure it was done by some one who knows what they were doing. Any advice is welcome. |
This is something i have been looking into aswell. Im sure you could get a better camshaft for that head and if you can get stiffer springs for that head then i would, i understand the XSI head already has a decent cam from standard but im sure you would benefit from something a bit more lairy.
Also i would'nt go for larger valves as this can mess up the flow or VE, big valve conversions are more for turbo charged engines were the oe valves are actually bottle-necking the airflow into the cylinder. And get the head professionally ported and polished and flow bench/ tested if your going to the effort of tuning the head :y: |
Port match both inlet and exhaust de shroud basics shouod be ok
