OMEX Rev limiter + Launch control

Are these really that bad for you car?

I was only planning on using the rev limiter so I can make it pop/bang. I can see why the launch control will be bad with stress on the clutch ect

Any help appreciated

Can of worms...

They good fun well can be, dont expect your valve guides to last long though if you use it to backfire.

Not a good idea to use one then?

Pros and cons like everything,

They not desinged for banging and popping hence the name launch control.

if only there was some sort of function where you could look to whats been posted in the past? like some sort of button maybe a switch or a knob. I would call it a search button. Oh wait.

Does the rev limiter not make it bang?

the standard limiter cuts the fuel.
the omex limiter cuts the spark, leaving the fuel. when the fuel hits the hot exhaust it goes bang.

the launch control adjustable, the idea being you find the desired rpm, usually peak torque, and use it to hold the engine at that speed until it grips then let go of it.

won't really harm your engine. i assume you have an old Saxo that's worth a couple hundred quid. knock yourself out, its a laugh, get it out of your system now as i doubt you will have another car as simple and cheap to repair.

I wouldn't say so,

can't see the value of the car making a difference

Aww did I touch a nerve?

Funny i just did a search for omex rev limiter using Google and found the exact answer for your question.

So I'm guessing that makes you some sort of retard.

Your on a forum full of saxo enthusiasts, people who will support you with your saxo, but, your VTR, its worth between £400 and £900, generously. . .

IF, your going to strap a load of stuff onto a car the value of it makes a huge difference.

I will do a really simple comparison using kam racing.

Saxo-
Supersprint exhaust - £291 (and thats the new stainless expensive one)

Clio 172-
Supersprint exhaust - £763

Do you think the clio exhaust costs that much more to manufacture? :homme:

The point i was getting it was, the saxo is really cheap old car, a spare engine can be picked up for £40 on here easily, if you break it who cares.
NO car you will ever own again will be as cheap to maintain and repair, and nothing will have so many aftermarket parts, and have them some readily available on the market.

If you want to have a car that pops and bangs on an omex, i wouldnt choose any other car as the base. The omex will cost more than any damage it can do. :')

He owns a VTS bro :homme:

the sounds of a car can make you enjoy it or hate it. think, when you give it beans, the car will make a sound. sound for a saxo is ALWAYS a byproduct of acceleration, be it loud or quiet. might as well make it something you like. if you like pops, make it pop. if you dont like it, silence it.
