Rear axle - talk to me?!
 

So I'm gonna have a crack at lowering my rear axle in the next couple of weeks but want to give a good check over beforehand. What am I looking out for?

If you have to ask what you should be checking for I would advise a whole lot of research before you start lack of knowledge always ends in tears. There is enough info on here for you to fill your boots and go into it with a level head with the general ins and outs.

All I can say it amen to that.

I'd rather pay to get it done but as I've had no joy finding anyone willing, I'm going to bite the bullet and tackle it head on.

I think I've got a good grasp on it now, few final things I need to look up and I'll be happier. I've been told to change the bearings and seals when I do it, so I need to find a supplier for these. Any recommendations? Anyone?

That's cool and fair enough but I know I can do them just wanted to know what I should be inspecting for whilst stripping the axle down. The idea is really simple, I know execution will be a ball ache! Lol! Any need to change bearings? Or is it just good practice to do so?
