EU Tracking all new cars
|
Each individual person is trackable via their mobile phone, so having a car able to be tracked is no big deal
|
Except you can turn a phone off. Or buy a payg mobile where it's not linked to your ID

I think if the EU want to bring in that legislation then they need to pay the cost of it per car.
Also what about all the small bumps people have day to day which may deploy the airbags unesssaserly, the emergency services time is going to be wasted attending these small bumps when they are not needed. |

I don't have air bags, looks like I'll be dying at the side of the road

Mercedes have had something similar to this called 'tele aid' for years. You just don't get it in this country

I dont think a call to the emergency services will be useful to an insurance company. Modern car ecu's are already capable of recording a lot of engine status and driver imput simply as cars get more complex. If an insurance company could be bothered then they could read the data already. More likely the Rozzers will be more interested when giving you that dangerous driving charge. Insurance companies will prefer the cheaper black box/ dash cam approach.
