lsd ramps

what is the track..(not rally or road racing) setting on plate lsd??

angles rampes??

help!

45/45 normally

Ross 21st May 2014 12:14

Depending on your driving style 30/60 or 30/30 or as above, 45/45 may suit.

45/45 is a good "middle of the road" setting.

I would prefer a 30 degree throttle ramp on track if I was that way orientated, but would like it well behaved on lift-off, so would have either 45 or more likely 60 coast ramp. so 30/60 would be my preference.

Edit to add: I actually have 45/45 as it's an off the shelf setting - but I have a road car not a track car.

greyjasper51 21st May 2014 14:46

30/60 setting is more of a rally stage setting, on the track it would bang in and not drive well at all, ashley taylor i believe it was i was talking to about ramp rates and he was saying about a 205 he drove at cadwell with a 30/60 ramp and it come in like a 125 express

Ross 21st May 2014 15:19

Yeah 30 is aggressive for sure but on throttle and on track I'd have thought it would be ok - be more concerned with the coast ramp. (Remember: I'm purely speculating as I don't drive on track!).

What I can tell you is when I got my diff first fitted it was specc'd completely incorrectly for the car (not by me I might add...) and was 30/30. On a road car was a fucking nightmare...

solvi 27th May 2014 17:15

mine saxo is full oriented track only car....race slicks ...and stiff as hell...

so 30/60 or 45/45 ??

maybe 30/60 will be my choice!! opinions please!!??

Ross 27th May 2014 17:22

I think you would find 45/45 the ideal setup. Maybe email Dave Mac Propshafts (who make the gripper diff) and ask their advice for your situation?

solvi 27th May 2014 17:27

thanks but will not buy a gripper diff....

i will buy it from http://www.rmc.com.pt.

.....less expensive here and easy to get it fixed if any major problem comes by....

but in general its a plate diff...ist a copy off citroen sport ones....

solvi 27th May 2014 17:34

thanks anyway ross...

solvi 27th May 2014 18:27

done ..

its chosen .....wiil be 30/60 and zero pre-load.

Ross 27th May 2014 23:30

Ok! I hope your happy with it. If you don't like it, it's no real hassle to change plates. :)
