266mm brakes track day

Hi all

Got a 106 GTi with the 266mm brake upgrade off the 206, now I'm going on Brands Hatch for a track day next couple of week, when I bought the brakes the discs were warped so I got some new discs from work, pagid ones aren't too sad do the job nicely, now pad upgrade, what do people think of the ebc stuff pads? I work for Euro car parts so get everything for cost basically and can order all the stuff pads for about 20 quid, any one got experience with them? Shall I go do something else? If so what pads? Daily drive aswell so need best of both worlds, no idea what pads are on these but would like some confidence on decent pads, running ATE Super Blue brake fluid aswell

Thanks

I've used Mintex 1155's with my 266mm's for a while now, I cant fault them really. They may not last aslong as regular motor factor pads. But they'll stop you better.

I run yellow stuff in my 266's and it did a great job on my rallye turbo. I love the yellow stuff pads, think their brilliand, i run them in my corsa track car

I wouldn't use EBC brake pads to stop my bike. :y:

This.

I've had EBC Red, Green & Yellow and all three were fucking shite.

Stick with Mintex/CL/Ferodo

Or even just the standard pads (depending on how you drive it) as they can be quite effective

I'm intending to run CL pads in mine when it hits a track, but I've not tried them yet.

MuZiZZle's car I have driven though, he runs 266's with Ferodo DS2500's and some random discs, I can't remember what sort. Braided Lines and AP DOT 5.1 fluid, the brakes are absolutely spot on for the car. We've done many track days in it without fade, they just keep giving. Great progressive pedal.

Discs are poverty ones that some dude on ebay drills and grooves

Wouldn't touch ebc simply for the bad press they get. Have heard good things about omp pads however and they are a little cheaper than your high performance brands and supposedly as good
