Headlights...REP AVAILABLE!

There is a little box on the back of the headlights. I have taken the headlights off but now need to take this box off so i can ut it on the new headlights and put the new headlights on my car.....

anybody know how to remove this box?

Barry123 7th September 2006 17:02

it was a bastard.
the box is the head light adjuster motor.

you have to twist and pull to un-catch it then you have to pull. to be honest i didnt want to pull it as i was worried about damaging it (citroen want £40 + VAT for each of them) so i took the lens off and caressed it out from both sides

howd oyou take the lense off? i took the metal clips off but they didnt seem to make a difference??

oh my god. this is the hardest thing i've ever done on the car. I pulled so hard and it didn't come off!!! for some reason it didn't break either. I just pulled harder and harder until it came flying out and I fell over :)

you have to heat the silicone sealent up with a hairdryer and get a flat headed screwdriver into the gap and prise them apart.

Yeh you should be able to do it without removing the lens but if u are afraid of breaking it at least the lens gives you another ooption

how do you put the lense back on? heat the sealant and then stick?

SNewham 7th September 2006 17:09

yeh you can re-heat the sealent or you can buy new silicone and put it on. I did my foglights today and just reheated it.

one of my lamps has came of the adjuster servo, ie when i move the lights up and down, one doesnt move but the motor is still moving.

if i took this box off would i be able to put the lamp back on the servo? as i dont really want to open the whole unit up
