Induction kit or panel filter for phase 2 VTR?

Hi guys i have read conflicting opinions on induction kits vs panel filters
which would be the most beneficial to the vtr phase 2 engine?

Thanks in advance !

Alot of people say panel filter mate probly because of price an same if any gains.

Open cone sounds better. You might loose or gain 1 bhp but who cares lol

Panel filter for me but down to personal preference really

Theres no real gains either way maybe 2-3 bhp. Just for sound and looks really.

I did have a panel filter and changed to a BMC cda not really noticed a difference.

It doesn't really matter you'll be better off with a cold air feed for the air filter

cone filters make a racket, panel filters dont, go for which you want.

if you want to be mega cheap ass you could use a pair of tights but i'm sure no one here would ever dream of doing that lol

Seems like a cheap idea until you suck in some debris and trash your engine.

Panel. You won't see any gains with an induction kit. Not on a VTR anyway. Got my k&n from egay. £50. Lasts forever (well... Longer than a vtr will last anyway)

The average male does not understand how regularly and easily a woman ladders her tights. This is why women only put tights on their legs not on their cars.

i just have an open K&N cone air filter, if you position it well, it wont suck up too much warm air, i found the best place was behind the inlet, i had a temp probe in the filter and messed around finding different spots to locate it, also, saucy little idea i thought of, get a second IAT, and pop it in the hole where the pcv hose would go, instead of the IAT being exposed to heat soak from the throttle body when the engine is hot, it will read the actual air temp, noticed it was a bit peppier, helped quite a bit.

before i got the pipe so i could locate it somewhere else, i plopped the filter right on the throttle body, aye it sucked in hot ish air, but i got all the noise i wanted, the best kind of noise, induction noise!:)

(off topic...but have you guys noticed that if you say a word enough times, it almost sounds weird? or should i put the bong away......)
