are 106 and Saxo B pillar distances the same?
Random question but interested to know, seems there are more parts available for saxo than 106.
I am looking for a harness bar to go between B pillars, I saw one on a website that said it was 50", I am not sure if that is right, I measured my 106 B pillar mounting holes and they are 44" apart, I doubt a saxo is 6" wider? But yeh not sure. Thanks. |
They're exactly the same car underneath the bolt on panels.
But i think you're are talking about the C pillars, not B. And lastly I don't think harness bars are safe at all, you really want them mounted off a roll cage to give adequate safety. |
Thanks Jeff, I guess the measurement on the site must be incorrect in that case.
I am looking for a half / rear cage with harness attachment points, but, struggling to find one. Nearly all appear to be full cages, OMP, custom cages etc, and, I don't have the budget right now after just purchasing the car. The car already had harnesses and buckets with a partially stripped interior, but the harnesses are not safe in my opinion, they are four points and use the rear seat buckle mounts - I know a lot of people do this, but they are way too low for any meaningful safety during an impact or hard stop. My quick fix was to mount a harness bar to the B pillars, like so: http://teinusa-blog.com/wp-content/u...bar-Custom.jpg Then later in the year I will remove and fit a cage. The style of cage I have been looking for is like this: http://thumbsnap.com/s/kAtV4bNY.jpg Again, difficult to find one it would seem at the moment. Thanks. |
I would strongly advise against the first bars in your link and save your money instead, from my knowledge these are highly dangerous and will collapse as a result of a collision leaving you with no seatbelts at all,I dread at only the thought of that especially with cars such as the Saxo, really, save your money and get a proper welded cage, not worth your health.

Ok thanks.
I guess in the meantime I could have a bar welded higher up near the rear bench. TBH, don't fancy using it on track with the harnesses bolted to the rear seat belt mounts, but don't have any seat belts either. Just looking for a temporary solution to raise the mounting atm so I can use it. I will be planning on a cage later if all goes well. |
