My GTi won't start.

Okay so I've bought back my old 106 GTi :panic:

It's a 2001 3 plug ECU car. all original wiring wise i.e no butchered looms.

I know the previous owner quite well. It's been looked after.

"A few weeks ago, running absolutely fine. Stopped for petrol. Came out to the car and no start."

The engine turns over fine.

The fuel pump doesn't prime.

An unlocked spare ECU has been tried so it's not immobilised.

All the dash lights come on as normal.

Where should I start?

Brown relay under the ECU?

Also a pinout of the fuel pump plug would be useful so I can check the voltage with a multimeter. :y: if anyone has one to hand.

Hahaha first thing that was tried. Even bridged the pins out.

Ill get to the car again on Saturday for a proper look.

Think it's brown relay on 3 plugs if I remember correctly

Solved

The ECU takes it's power directly from the battery via the starter motor.

The wire had snapped off the starter motor.

Ran wire directly to the battery, pump primed and it fired straight up.

non start

nice one,but if the wire had snapped off the starter how did it turn over.
was it just a small wire.

There's 3 wires going to the starter and 2 posts.

Engine turns over but engine loom has no power. :afro:

It's just a lazy way for Peugeot to get power to the loom since it runs behind the engine. I made a live feed straight from the battery. since electrically this is how it's connected anyway.

I'll get pictures when I get the car home at the end of the month.

As my previous post, it was the ECU feed which comes from the starter motor. :y:
