Clutch change

Hi all

Seen that the clutch change has been covered before but i was just wondering is it a real difficult to do? I've got my peugeot 106 with a possible throw out bearing issue its started after about 20 minutes of driving to start making a squel noise not too loud but really noticeable it goes away when you you press the clutch in although its still sort of there but much quieter. I was going to take it to the garage to have fixed bit expecting a bill of 400 quid to have it done i don't have the money to do that.

Just wondered if its a really difficult job. Ive read the guide and looks quite a bit to remove but having never replaced on before its a bit daunting. I've done other bits on my car.

400 quid would be a good price, book time is 3.6 hours plus parts.

It's not hard to do yourself, I remember doing mine for the first time. It was easier for me to remove the whole engine because I didn't have a 2 post ramp.

Doing it on axle stands with the engine still in place is hard, the front needs to be really high so you can get underneath and have space to swing the gearbox down on the engine mounts.

Thanks Martin for getting back to me. Probably going to be beyond me as I've only got hand tools and would be workingnoff a jack and stands. Thanks for your experience in doing it as its saved me getting to a point of strip just to realise its not high enough
