Hmmm What would you do...
Well alot is comming up on my motor , MOT, TAX, clutch is gonna need doing, new tyres, and all the little things that have started to annoy me like comfort, petrol costs etc , is it worth forking out a huge repair bill on my saxo?
I have no idea what it would be worth, probably not alot, but i wouldnt know what to get as a replacement if i did look for another car? What would others do? And what car would you buy thats reliable, good insurance, and still quite stylish? Its beginning to bug me, losing interest really! |
Get a proper car then.. like a family saloon... You wont be able to afford a decent hatchback like a civic type R so it's not even worth going into to.
|
Depends what your situation is at the moment mate....family....cash etc
If you want to lower overall costs look into German cars i.e Volkswagon Golf, Polo It seems you have put a lot of time into your saxo so i I were you I would stick with it and find ways to make running costs cheaper (friends to do servicing etc Hope that helps Ben :P |
Blow it up mate, insurance job it
|
get it fixed mate. get people to do the jobs as homers that will save you alot of cash
i just got my clutch done for £30 as a homer :-) |
wtfffff is a homer?
|
like a mechanic who will do the job out of work..... cash in hand if you know what i mean
|
after starting to drive other ppl cars im startin to dislike how uncomfortable saxos really are,yes they go around corners like there on rails lol but im starting to think maybe its time to get sumit a bit more comfortable an alot less quiet, this is not old age kicking in as im already quite old, never mind we will wait an see wot next year brings
|
Just run two cars, one that is every day use and a saxo for when you want to have some fun.
|
lol i can barely efford to run 1 car mate let alone 2 haha
I think repairs / maintence bills could easily go over £1000 soon but i suppose you get that with any car |
a clutch is only about £70
tyres are fairly cheap |

Clutch isnt £70 i dont think mate after labour its about £200 odd :) Tyres are £90 each! Not sure how much a majour service with cam belt is |
|

|
Ask someone off here to do it, if there is anyone in your area
also try ebay mate get some good stuff on there cheap |
buy a golf tdi;)
|
cambelt is 200+
|
Have a go at doing it yourself, its really not that hard to do, some bits may take time but its worth saving the money for and you'll learn more about the car aswel
I did my own clutch which was £30 (I know someone who can get parts for trade price) Cam Belt i did myself £50 With tyres you dont have to buy new, theres places about that sell legal tyres from cars that have been written off for whatever reason, u could pick up a full set for £100 easily. |
when mine dies i'm getting an rx-7... you know it makes sense :D
