head gasket?
enough coolant?
any coolant leaks?

scook 15th November 2006 12:05

Maybe a knackered radiator

sameer786 15th November 2006 12:08

can be....

from slightest fault to a major one:

thermostat
airlock
dodgy rad
leaking gasket

jus hope ur luky and get away with jus an airlock or summin otherwise gaskets are well expensive to repair

have you topped up with coolant recently as the rad pressure cap may not be on properly, then this will make it boil over

just beep the system to get any air locks out while its running and take it from there mate. this is just a free and simple one and could cure it. but would do this before looking into anything more drastic

i had the exact same problemo pal, it was simply an air lock, what to do is run the car engine and open the radiator top, after a few seconds the fluid will come out, but let some overflow and then turn off engine, top up with more liquid. should cure it, also there is a plug in the radiator down the bottom right, you could take that out also, not for long tho. then check the coolant level the next day etc to see if its the right level. job done!
