TomTom sat nav

Was thinking of getting a tomtom one for christmas. Just wondered if anyone has one, and what they think of it. Also, is there anywhere you can download free speed camera locations? cheers

Mattvtr 25th November 2006 22:26

none have free speed camera locations
you get it cheaper for monthly subscription at pocket-gps
garmin imo are better, get more for your money

Oli_P 25th November 2006 22:31

road angel navigator :D they look good wouldn't mind one of those :P

Curran 25th November 2006 22:33

what are the best sat nav systems?

sexysaxo86 25th November 2006 22:33

dads got tom tom, they excellent! where i work all the satnavs come bak faulty apart from the tom toms!....sorta tells u sumut

Oli_P 25th November 2006 22:34

i think all of the have there faults so you couldn't really say which is best, people will probably say tomtom etc as they more widely owned/known

Mattvtr 25th November 2006 22:36

road angel navigator is shit, too much money for too little,no traffic service, poor mapping, slow loading.
tom tom and garmin are the leading products with navman close behind
garmin offer a lot of extras however,i.e. free traffic info preloaded speed cameras
tom tom do one gb and europe but europe is major roads only

only problems i ever have with tom toms is a lot freeze once but then reset them and they never do again

KamRacing 25th November 2006 22:38

tom toms don't work so well in London.

Half the time in the city it can't work out where you are

Mattvtr 25th November 2006 22:39

all depends on the number of satellites available at the current time

saxo_jim 25th November 2006 22:40

i have just bought a navman f20 for £150 hasnt come yet but looks ok for the price. i think it has got pre loaded speed camera locations on as well.

Mattvtr 25th November 2006 22:41

pre loaded but you must pay for your updates

GTI_Lee 25th November 2006 22:44

I got a tomtom, and the speed camera locations were already on it and the updates are free! I'd go with a tomtom!

williamsvts 25th November 2006 22:52

use a map you lazy f%$kers!!!! :P

BenSilverSaxo 25th November 2006 22:54

Iv got a tom tom one its absolutely great. Since ive had it iv been all over the country and its never failed. You can download the cameras off a site for about £1-2 and it is really easy to do! I would recommend tom tom as they are easily best at the haulage firm i work at every one a good 100 drivers own tom tom.
Hope this helps Ben

alot of websites are offering free speed camera's and traffic updates if you sign up to there website (which is free) so this way you can get the free speed cameras and traffic updates without paying more £££.

i have a link to one of these websites.. ill dig it out later.

spanair 26th November 2006 02:51

I've recently bought a TomTom GO 710 due to traveling (inc. europe), so far all I can say about it is that it's great, good time saver in most cases and what not I wasn't really bothered about having one before but since I got it I can't be without it for long .

Delboy75 26th November 2006 11:51

few of my mates have the tom tom one and are well pleased with it.
I want one as im crap at map reading

You can get different voices n stuff for it, its well cool
