Induction Kit

I was thinking of getting an induction kit for my vtr i've got a magnex exhaust and without one it doesn't sound that peachy will an induction kit make a big difference?

What sort of induction kits should i look to get?

K&N seems to be a popular one, is it any good?

Many thanks

first have a search mate, to help your answer.
otherwise, sound will be louder from induction roar
dont get KnN if you dont want to loose performance as its open filter
popular are green enclosed and bmc

O really??

Had a K&N on my VTR, sounded nice but thats about it. Lagged loads on a
mega hot day (think it was cus it was a black car too)

IMO go with a BMC or for some of those Simota thingy mabobs.

you didnt research well then as its an open filter and open filters loose performance. will primary produce noise. if you didnt know that fair enough

exactly!!

open induction kit = noise and mst likely a loss in power

enclosed induction kit = no noise if any, but power gains

oh thanks very much for clearing that up S34MER

The idea of induction is to get more cold air, imagine an open induction kit under a warm bonnet.. its going to suck in hot air...

if you want noise then theyre prob the best bet,
but for a bit of noise and more performance, id go for something like a BMC enclosed induction which wont be sucking in any warm engine bay fumes!

Or go for one of those Raceland kits on ebay for £60 and buy a green cotton filter for it so you get the best of both worlds...

hope this helps
