How to remove front suspension inserts

Hi All,

I have a 2001 Saxo VTR and have finally got round to lowering the suspension.

I have just purchased a lowering kit from KW. It will lower the front 55mm and Im lowering the back probs 45mm.

Me and a mate who works for vauxhall are fitting the kit. Hes done it before but only on an Audi where he use to work.

I only have the inserts for the front dampers/shocks and need to know how to remove the old ones. Under the wrinkly rubber thing is a kind of screw on cap that holds the insert into the bottom half that the track rod and that connect on to. On this cap is 3 holes. I need to un-screw this to get the old insert out to replace with the new ones. Where can I get this from?

Is there a proper name for this tool?

Appreciate any responses

You might not need the proper tool to remove the cap, try giving it some WD40 and twisting it off or giving it a tap in one of the holes in the direction of turning.

Most will come off fairly easily that way.
