Can anyone please help....have recently purchased a CD Headunit for my Saxo, tried to remove the crappy factory fitted one with the 2 removal pins but don`t really know where they`ve gotta be put. Have prised off the 2 side panels but still none the wiser. Hope someone does`nt mind helping out a complete novice to this whole business.

once you get the side bit off there should be two holes. Just shove the removal pins down them, do the same at the other side if you can, then pull on the unit and it should come out. It might be easier to put your hand up the back of the dash and push the head unit forwards.

Cheers for the reply Matt

Have tried 2 holes on the sides that seem to fit the removal tools perfectly...only trouble is they don`t go in very far at all so i don`t think they`re connecting with the mounting cage. Have these tools really gotta be forced in or what? Are the 2 holes actually part of the plastic casing of the original radio?

Soz for being so dense....its just getting really frustrating.

sometimes you need to push in the pins with a bit of force. Shove them in as far as you can or at least half way in the pull on the pins at the same time to remove the unit if the pins keep coming out then push them back into place and either put your hand up behind the dash and push the unit out or get your fingers in the tape player and pull out.

Then remove the wiring plugs and aerial from the back of it and remove the cage.

Put in the new cage and bend the lugs until its solid

cpnnect your new head unit up and then slide it into place job done
