Quickie Here .... Knocking Front Springs
 
Front springs knock basiclly. happened on my old 1.1 and now on my vtr. had it lowered on springs. someone said its the top mounts costing 30quid or something? Just its rather annoying as when i 'cruise' in town on cobbles it does it loudly. cheers

something to do with how a part of the suspension spins round and makes a clunking noise, theres a how to on how to stop it but it requires some welding, mine only does it when im not moving..

I drove the car away, the knocking had stopped but then came back again. I went back to Citroen, took one of the technicians out with me and he said...

"It might be the steering rack. Where it connects in the middle, the bolts may be loose or worn and this may have been the result of the "quite" hard knock I had on a kerb not so long ago. He said that to change them, they can be a right pain but as it stands... the car is safe and nothing will happen in the near future. He said if the steering wheels starts to give off a lot of play, then go back to them for them to sort it."
