loss of power

will a broken cat cause my vts to loose power? its making a loud rattling noise and iv been told the ball is causing the noise and tha i need a new 1. iv found quite a big loss in power so would the cat be causing this? cheers

No, techinically it can't. However, if somehow it's causing a blockage in the airflow, it could cause power issues.

it feels like its not picking up speed as quick as it did. really slugish!

Hmm, OK. If you definately need a new CAT, then get a new CAT. If at the sametime you don't notice any improvement in the car's performance, we'll need to start looking at other possibilities.
