Whats the average cost of.... near you?

Whats the average cost of- BRAKE PADS
Whats the average cost of - BRAKE PAD FITTING

Only on front wheels
on a pug 306 not a saxo, but should be same price

and dont say fit them yourself, im lazy and dont like getting hands dirty

Do you think I can do it for under 100 notes?

If not im running it into a tree and claiming on insruance lol

DAN-VTS 26th July 2007 23:29

yeah i would say you can get the pads and fitted just under 100 from a main dealer with genuine parts. You could always buy some pattern pads like mintex and get the garage to fit them (little bit cheaper) but thats all depending on weather you need discs aswell

saxodan 26th July 2007 23:30

Cheers mate, hopefully no discs lol

Im thinking just a standard garage job, no main dealer like pug getting involved, just cheap parts too

rep given

jaybiss 26th July 2007 23:47

you buy pads of halfords then go kwik fit or somehting and offer the moneky 20 quid cash in hand to fit them ;)

I like your thinking

Scattle 27th July 2007 08:20

I bourght the front Discs and 4 pads, from A1 motorstores for £45 ish quid all in, then me and my uncle fitted them only took 1 and 1/2 hours, not that hard either. So if you buy them for £40 and 1 hour labour £30ish you could get them done for £75 ish.

KamRacing 27th July 2007 09:06

changing disks and pads is one of the easiest maintenance you can do and will save you a fortune by doing it yourself.
For cheap parts try gsfcarparts.com and find your local branch

craig180 27th July 2007 10:23

^^^Totally agree. Even for a lazy shit like you I reckon you could get your hands dirty and do in in an hour.

Pads = £20

Hour of your time = nowt!

Saving = £80 = night out in town

think my brakes are fucked at the moment, wouldnt want to trust myself with the only things stopping me flying off the motorway into a grass ditch tbh...

i trust audi to do it tbh.

wouldnt trust any back street garage. was ok when i had the saxo, as i knew a citroen mechanic and another mate owned a pug specialist garage. with the new motor i get better service but just have to pay through the nose for it...

Baz 27th July 2007 12:19

cost me £80 for front disc's and pads plus fitting so im sure you can get it done for under £100
