head gasket twice in two months
 
my mate brought a 106 gti 3 months ago after a month the head gasket went so he skimmed the head and did the head gasket a month later it went again so he did the head gasket four the second time the car is back on the road now but as hes cruisin along at normal speeds the car is juddering and when he puts his foot down its fine hes put a new oxygen sensor on ,can anybody help me thanks

could be a map sensor bud as it could be making it run rough. that shouldnt have happened with the headgasket - did you get a slightly thicker gasket to compensate for the skimming (they are called repair gaskets, also was it a multi layer steel gasket?)

should do a compression check before automatically assuming its the head gasket..

yea he got a thicker gasket the second time round

Could be something to do with the throttle body. When you touch the accelerator it opens a valve in the throttle body to allow air into the inlet manifold. Maybe when he takes his foot of the pedal the valve tries to close which will prevent air getting in to mix with the fuel. just a thought.
