I had trouble with mine too

Right, on the left hand side, you see your playlists?

Just under where it says 'your ipod'

You need to make a new playlist... call it whatever you want, then just drag and drop onto the new playlist, unplug the ipod, the plug it back in, and it will Sync itself..

Hope that was easy to understand... If not i'll make some screenshots for you.
