You have a 2Mb line but what your service provider doesnt tell you is that thats mega bits (Mb) and NOT mega bytes (MB).

1mega bits (Mb) = 1024 bits
2mega bits (Mb) = 2048 mega bits

You have a 2 mega bits (Mbs) connection. so divide 2048 by 8 = 256
So your maximum download rate depending on the number of uploaders, and your distance from the exchange server is 256Kbps

I thought it was the other way round, a MegaByte = 1024, a MegaBit = 1000.
