Thanks for all the wishes and concerns ladies and gents.
Its getting me seriously stressed now, we've established that the head gasket is not the cause and now that they've replaced the one i supplied with a new one and the leak is still there they've admitted that its misdiagnosis and that i wot have to pay the £200sh for the replacement of that.
The damage weve agreed to talk about later and the prime concern is the engine itself, to some extent they admitted the damage although trying to wriggle out of it by saying the cars too low my point of "if it was a £200k supercar that you had in thats low you've have taken much more care" trumped their argument.
So far theres still no idea where the leak is coming from, to my knowledge and memory of what goes there in that given area there is:
- Seal on the front camshhaft (outlet) which is/was a brand new part and i cant see that being the cause
- Seals on the cam covers, cam ladders, both of which are new seals and no leak was evident before
- Head gasket which has been changed twice now, head has been skimmed twice and when i got the engine there was no evidence of a leak from this area.
QEP did all the work on the head and said it was in perfect condition and this place also found no noticeable fault when originally putting the engine together.
The only other bolt/s that i can think or is the little one which bolts the back cambelt cover onto the head, but this is only a small stubby thing which isnt long enough to have penetrated the inner head wall.
Other than that i cant think of or remember seeing any other parts which could be to blame.
