Default High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT)

Does/has anybody ever done this? What were the results like?

I want to start losing weight again the the summer (fat weight) and HIIT 'apparently' gives great weight loss results (better than normal), reduces muscle mass loss and increases fitness more than regular cardio.. and obviously requires shorter workouts, which I like the sound of!

So, what do you reckon?

Also - another completely different question. I've got treadmills, elipitical trainer etc at home, but was considering joining the gym (virgin active) as it's just up the road.. I feeel like I mite be motivated to work out more at the gym, and stay there longer once I started opposed to doing it at home.. thoughts/opinions? Anyone ever done anything like this before? Want to do whatever will make me lose the most weight and ovvi don't want to waste money.

Cheers
